In this day in age just about everyone is on social media in some form or another. Each couple is entitled to their own view on how they want their wedding to be perceived on the social media outlets out there. Some couples may prefer to keep a low profile on social media, and that's OK. It is completely understandable that you may not want surprises to be ruined by other guests posts or have low-quality iPhone photos flood social media when you are expecting top notch professional shots that you paid a small fortune for. Couples looking to keep their wedding day tech-free, consider politely conveying this information on your wedding website and then again with a small note on the ceremony programs (so that less tech-savvy guests get the memo too!). If you really want to ensure guests get the message, ask the officiant to make a quick announcement before the ceremony begins. Try explaining to your guests that you want to enjoy the moment with them not through their phone. You can also consider having a cute sign made up for you welcome table or near the ceremony entrance like these two below;
On the opposite side of this issue, some folks embrace their guests use of social media for their wedding. Which can also be lots of fun and give your wedding a personal touch, it can also reach those guests you may not have been able to attend. There are lots of cute ideas for incorporating social media into your wedding day. A great one is the wedding hashtag, this your guests can use on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and create a wedding feed of your day. I see a lot of brides use this one because it is as easy as making up a sign.
This is a new trend I've found which is super cute! A sort of hybrid photo booth, a selfie station. Set up a sign and a few props and bam! Wedding selfies.
This brand new option I just discovered and I couldn't be more excited about it as an avid snapchat user. You can now make your own custom snapchat filters. Such a fun idea!! Check out this link to find out more.

Many of our brides these days do at least some of their wedding details DIY, or do it yourself. It's a great way to save a little money when costs can add up quick. It can also give your wedding details a personal touch and sentimental value for you and your partner. I have recently discovered a new and amazing craft product, Japanese Washi Tape. This amazing invention can be used for so many things. If you haven't heard of it before, get ready for your obsession to begin! The best way to describe washi tape is that it feels like masking tape — very, very pretty masking tape. It's made of paper, but is not as delicate as you would expect. Plus, it comes in patterns and designs that will make even the most dedicated crafters swoon and varying widths to allow you to create some fun and intricate washi tape designs. Here are a few cute projects using Washi tape for a DIY Beach Wedding. Check out these easy to make washi tape centerpieces.
Spice up your wedding favors with a bit a Washi tape.
You can use Washi tape to add some color and design to your invitations.
Have your guests use washi tape to put notes or photos in your guest book.
Use washi tape on your escort cards.
These flowers are just so romantic. Show me some garden roses and peonies, and I'll melt. Not to mention the matte rose gold sequin table runners. Rose gold is a definite up and coming trend in color.
The natural coral pieces are a great addition to this tablescape. Each one is unique and truly adds a Keys touch in an elegant way. Also a great way to add natural beauty without the expense of floral arrangements.
This is our Antipasti station. Appetizer stations in addition to passed hor derves makes for satisfied guests. At a destination wedding, most guests have been in town for a few days indulging with friends and family and will be hungry by the time cocktail hour arrives. Also a great focal point in your cocktail area, not to mention tasty.
This groom's cake got lots of sports media attention after twitter leaks from the groom's buddies. This couple are both avid football fans of their opposing alma maters. The bride had a little trick up her sleeve. Inside the Alabama cake, she had the baker make the cake inside in gators colors! The groom was shocked and word spread fast.
Another popular trend this wedding season has been the natural runner. An absolute must for a rustic and whimsically styled wedding.
This new signature drink recipe we used recently was an awesome twist on an old classic. The Black Pepper Kumquat Margarita was an absolute showstopper! Delicious, refreshing and boozy it was a big hit.
Year to date these have been some of our favorite wedding details so far. Watch this space and Caribbean Catering's social media outlets for more of our work to come this year.
If you haven't noticed, this year has been flying by! Already well into the seventh month of the year and you know that the holiday season will be here before we can catch up. In this post, I want to look back on some of our favorite weddings so far this year. Whether it be the flowers or the menu I have chosen some of the best wedding details this year so far. Last month our Bride had a Sperry tent. I have always loved the look of this type of tent and it really made a statement. Perfect styling for a fairytale garden party. Something special for sure.
This rehearsal dinner was perfectly styled for a real old world tropical vibe. Vintage cigar boxes filled with birds of paradise, colorful napkins, vintage water vessels and bamboo chairs. Complete with a Cuban themed menu, mojitos and a real live cigar roller we were instantly transported to Havanna.
We honestly can't get enough draping. So elegant and sophisticated and so many variations and creations that can be made with this. The possibilities truly are endless. Looking forward to seeing more of this to come.
This Rehearsal Dinner had a super fun summer menu. Brings you back to summers past with friends and family around, cold beer and digging to some crab legs and corn on the cob.
Stay tuned for more, Part two will be Thursday.
