In this day in age just about everyone is on social media in some form or another. Each couple is entitled to their own view on how they want their wedding to be perceived on the social media outlets out there. Some couples may prefer to keep a low profile on social media, and that's OK. It is completely understandable that you may not want surprises to be ruined by other guests posts or have low-quality iPhone photos flood social media when you are expecting top notch professional shots that you paid a small fortune for. Couples looking to keep their wedding day tech-free, consider politely conveying this information on your wedding website and then again with a small note on the ceremony programs (so that less tech-savvy guests get the memo too!). If you really want to ensure guests get the message, ask the officiant to make a quick announcement before the ceremony begins. Try explaining to your guests that you want to enjoy the moment with them not through their phone. On the opposite side of this issue, some folks embrace their guests use of social media for their wedding. It is always a great idea to come up with a fun theme for your wedding to create a unique vibe for your special day. As Halloween is right around the corner and many brides have their fall wedding happening so close to such a fun holiday. Who doesn't love a good costume party! A masquerade themed wedding allows you to combine the fun of costumes and mystery of wearing masks as well as that classy vibe of a Venetian masquerade ball. The best part is there are so many options on where you can take the style of decor, all black and white, classic Venetian, or 1920's. There are also a lot of different masks out there for the wedding party and wedding couple as well. This website has a great selection of wedding masquerade masks. It will also give your guests a chance to show some creativity in how they match their mask to their outfits and there are also several nice couples masks out there. Even amazon has a large selection of masks. Another great idea is to have a big basket of masks available for your guests to choose as they arrive also.
These are somee of my favorite bridal masks. It is nice that it is on a stick so you have the choice to hold it up for pictures but not have it ruin your nice hair and make-up.

I am looking forward to seeing some of these at our weddings soon, we love this look. Perfect for those with a flair for the dramatic. Designers featured gowns with these lacey and romantic cover-ups in their latest wedding dress collections. And the adornment isn't just for fashion-forward brides looking to make a style statement on their big day — capes are a great alternative for ladies who need a modest layer for a religious ceremony but want the flexibility of removing that layer for the reception.
And while a blinged-out, full-length layer is certainly glam, there's more subdued, sheer lace caplets out there, too.

A Silent disco is an interesting new wedding trend that we have spotted on the horizon. It is perfect for an after party for those party-all-nighters out there! Our local noise ordinance means that all amplified music must be shut down at 11PM. The perfect time to start your silent disco party without disturbing the neighbors. I can't wait for our first silent disco wedding! Here's some information I found from a company called Silent Storm that provides silent disco service:

This amazing invention can be used for so many things. If you haven't heard of it before, get ready for your obsession to begin! These flowers are just so romantic. Show me some garden roses and peonies, and I'll melt. Not to mention the matte rose gold sequin table runners. Rose gold is a definite up and coming trend in color.

At a destination wedding, most guests have been in town for a few days indulging with friends and family and will be hungry by the time cocktail hour arrives. This groom's cake got lots of sports media attention after twitter leaks from the groom's buddies. This couple are both avid football fans of their opposing alma maters. The bride had a little trick up her sleeve. Inside the Alabama cake, she had the baker make the cake inside in gators colors! The groom was shocked and word spread fast.
Another popular trend this wedding season has been the natural runner. An absolute must for a rustic and whimsically styled wedding.
This new signature drink recipe we used recently was an awesome twist on an old classic. The Black Pepper Kumquat Margarita was an absolute showstopper! Delicious, refreshing and boozy it was a big hit.

If you haven't noticed, this year has been flying by! Already well into the seventh month of the year and you know that the holiday season will be here before we can catch up. In this post, I want to look back on some of our favorite weddings so far this year. Whether it be the flowers or the menu I have chosen some of the best wedding details this year so far. Last month our Bride had a Sperry tent. I have always loved the look of this type of tent and it really made a statement. Perfect styling for a fairytale garden party. Something special for sure.
This rehearsal dinner was perfectly styled for a real old world tropical vibe. Vintage cigar boxes filled with birds of paradise, colorful napkins, vintage water vessels and bamboo chairs. Complete with a Cuban themed menu, mojitos and a real live cigar roller we were instantly transported to Havanna.
We honestly can't get enough draping. So elegant and sophisticated and so many variations and creations that can be made with this. The possibilities truly are endless. Looking forward to seeing more of this to come.
This Rehearsal Dinner had a super fun summer menu. Brings you back to summers past with friends and family around, cold beer and digging to some crab legs and corn on the cob.

For a long while round tables have been the top choice for brides. Round tables are great - they create an intimate atmosphere where everyone at the table can chat and no one feels left out. But it's always good to think about your design options and not to blindly follow suit of those that have gone before you. What we have been seeing a lot of lately are Long tables. They are the new wedding table of choice!
We love them for lots of reasons. Of course they look amazing and they also make the table plan easier because groups can be merged along the table without having group or separate people. Plus, if you have a miscount you might be able to squeeze a few extra seats in!
Flowers, candles, lanterns and runners look amazing on long tables - the symmetry of their arrangement on a long table creates a fantastic visual effect. The long tables really have an old world romantic look to them.

Our new Cuban themed menu is perfect for an Islamorada event. With the Caribbean influences in this part of the country it is a perfect match. Not only is the food delicious but there are many possibilities for decor with in this theme as well. Colorful, fun and tropical are perfect decor elements for a wedding or event here in Islamorada.
This event that we did recently totally captured the look. White linen, rattan chargers, bamboo chairs and bright multicolored napkins. Square tables give a regal feel with the extra space they provide. Centerpieces consist of cigar boxes filled with tropical stems and greens, and vintage tequila bottles used to serve cold water. Brightly colored and tropical yet still classy and elegant.
Our Cuban themed menu consists of the following delicious dishes:
Mojo pulled pork - The pork is slow cooked until it is fall apart tender and marinated in garlic, olive oil and citrus juices. A wonderful combination of tangy and savory flavors.
Tostones - Twice fried and pounded plantain chips, that are crispy and golden brown, served with a citrus garlic dipping sauce.
Avocado and tomato salad - Sweet ripe tomatoes and creamy avocado slices dressed in a light vinaigrette, salt and pepper.
Rice and black beans - A Cuban classic and tasty combination of savory black beans paired with perfectly cooked white rice.
At the bar serve some traditional Cuban cocktails. The Mojito, it's combination of sweetness, refreshing citrus, and mint flavors is intended to complement the potent kick of the rum, and has made it a perfect summer drink. The Cuba Libre, a highball made of cola, lime, and dark or light rum. The Havana Club Daiquiri, ingredients are rum, citrus (typically lime juice), and sugar. Again light and refreshing and decidedly Cuban, the drink is named for a small beach village in Cuba.
Consider hiring a cigar roller. To provide cigars and roll cigars in person for all of your guests. We often work with Rodriguez Cigars out of Key West. They do a great job and have a beautiful display for events.

Just as you think you've got all the details for your wedding wrapped up you realize that there's a whole other event that needs to be planned, your rehearsal dinner! is a get together for family and wedding party the day before the big day. Usually right after you do an actual rehearsal of your ceremony, hence the name rehearsal. The rehearsal dinner is a great opportunity for families to get to know one another in a more relaxed environment than the wedding day. Take advantage of the casual atmosphere and get in some chatting time with some of your guests, on the wedding day you will be getting pulled in so many directions you will most likely not have the chance to get any real quality time with anyone.
You can choose to have a formal or casual event, as long as you don't outdo what's to come. The wedding is the big event, the rehearsal should be the sneak peek. Since the rehearsal dinner is more informal than the wedding reception, the food and atmosphere should reflect or complement that. Ultimately, the setting of the rehearsal dinner depends on the budget, how many guests there will be, and what kind of party the host envisions.
Traditionally when it comes to who to invite to the rehearsal dinner it is mainly immediate family, the wedding party, anyone who is involved in the ceremony like ring bearers and flower girls and their parents as well as any guests who have traveled a significant distance. In most cases down here in the Florida Keys couples are having a destination wedding. In these cases it can get tricky on you to invite since most everyone has traveled to attend. Some do invite all of their guests to the rehearsal in this case, however if that is really just not in the budget many will just invite a small group for dinner and then have the rest of your guests join later for drinks and dessert. Another money saver at your rehearsal dinner is to have a self service bar doing just beer and wine.
